South Wales
Plenty of amateur activity around the cities and valleys. Start with ukrepeater.net for local GB3/GB7 outputs, get CTCSS right, and keep BrandMeister courtesy in mind if you’re on DMR (2350 is for short overs).
Mid & North
Terrain and distance do more of the work. A clean antenna and a realistic noise floor beat a handheld on the windowsill. When you add a listing here, put place + county/region so someone fifty miles away isn’t guessing.
